Our founder Peter got his first skateboard at the age of 12 – a classic wooden deck, which was the standard back then (and still is today). But the more he skated, the more his board chipped or broke. This constant frustration led him to one thought: There has to be a better, more durable material! In his early 20s, Peter decided to take matters into his own hands. He started building his own boards in his parents' garage and experimented with anything he could get his hands on – from bamboo to carbon fibers and glass fibers. Word quickly spread that someone was trying something new, and what started as a small project grew into a real community. Boards for friends turned into thousands of orders from all over Europe. Today, we are Kape Skateboards, and as a team, we carry Peter's vision forward: to rethink and evolve skateboarding. Our goal? A board that keeps the classic vibes of wood but takes it to the next level with cutting-edge technology. After five years of intense development and nearly 1,000 prototypes, "The Vanguard" was born – a board that feels like a fresh wooden deck, only somehow better. Our board is made from recycled ocean plastic and glass fibers. It offers extreme durability and an ultra-smooth slide experience.
